Disney parks around the world

In this blog we are going to look at the Disney Parks around the world. Disney currently has parks in six locations and has recently announced a new park coming to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The first park to open was in California, the park is called Disneyland Park and it opened on the 17th July 1955. On the 8th February 2001 in the same location Disney opened a second park called California Adventure.

The second park to open was in Florida. On the 1st October 1971 Magic Kingdom opened in Orlando. The second park to open in this location was Epcot on the 1st October 1982. Disney then opened a third park in Orlando called Hollywood Studios, which opened on the 1st May 1989. The fourth park to open in Orlando was on the 22nd April 1998 and is called Animal Kingdom.

Disney World also has two water parks the first one opened on the 1st June 1985 and is called Typhoon Lagoon. The second water park is called Blizzard Beach and opened on 1st April 1995.

Disney then decided to build their first park outside of the United States. This park was located in Toyko. The park opened on the 15th April 1983 and is called Toyko Disneyland. On the 4th September 2001 a second park opened in Toyko called Tokyo DisneySea.

On the 12th April 1992 Disney opened a park in Paris, called Disneyland Park. It then opened a second park next door called Walt Disney Studios Park on the 16th March 2002.

The next location Disney opened a park was in Hong Kong. The park opened on the 12th September 2005 and is called Hong Kong Disneyland.

The most recent park to open is in Shanghai. Disney opened the park on the 16th June 2016 and the park is called Shanghai Disneyland.

There are the different parks Disney have around the world. They also have a number of shopping and entertainment locations as well as many hotels. In another blog we will look at other properties Disney has.
