Films to watch before heading to the parks
There are a few Disney films that I recommend you watch before going to the Disney parks.
Firstly one of my favourite rides at Disneyland Paris which is also at Disney World is Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. This trackless ride is incredible and if you what the film before you ride it, you will have a better understanding of the storyline.
Another ride that was created before the film is the Pirates of the Caribbean. It is a good idea to watch the films or at least the first one before going on the ride. The ride has a lot of detail in it, which you may not completely understand if you haven't watched the films.

At Disney World there is a whole area themed on the film Avatar. I would recommend you watch the films before going to Animal Kingdom. The ride within this area is outstanding, and if you have seen the films then you are likely to feel immersed in the experience.
In Hollywood Studios at Disney World there is a whole land based on the Toy Story films. There are currently five Toy Story films, I would recommend you watch at least the first two films if not all of them. By watching the films you will have a better knowledge of the characters and the idea behind the land that has been created.

At Epcot there is the Frozen Ever After ride which includes the storyline and characters. If you have watched the Frozen films particularly the first one then you will have a greater understanding of what is going on.
Now I will be honest with you, I haven't actually watched Star Wars myself, however I think it would really help on understanding the rides. There are multiple Star Wars rides across the different Disney parks that are absolutely amazing. I really like the simulation ride at Disneyland Paris, however I feel that if I had watched the films I would enjoy it even more. At Disney World and Disneyland they have a whole land each called Galaxy's Edge based on Star Wars.

I absolutely love the Jungle Cruise film which is actually based off of the ride not the other way round like the other rides mentioned above. The film is one of my favourites and even though the film isn't exactly the same as the ride it is definitely worth a watch before experiencing the ride.
