Facts about Hong Kong Disneyland

1. Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12th 2005.

2. The resort is jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hong Kong International Theme Parks.

3. The castle in this park is called Castle of Magical Dreams and honours 14 Disney Princesses and Queens.

8. Groundbreaking for this resort began in January 2003, which was just under two and half years before the park officially opened.

9. Hong Kong Disneyland was the first park to include Disney characters on It's a Small World.

10. Feng Shui principles have been used at this resort. An example of this is there is a specially bent pathway to stop any 'good energy' flowing away.

11. This resort has one of the largest solar panels in all of Hong Kong. It covers 21 buildings and has 5,200 panels.

12. Hong Kong Disneyland is the fifth Disney resort and was the first to be built in China.

14. It is the only Disney park to have Mystic Manor, instead of the Haunted Mansion. The attraction is a non-ghost ride which is inspired by Chinese culture.

15. This resort is the first Disneyland to not have a Frontierland, when the park opened the main exotic land was Adventureland.
