The Disney Encyclopedia - letter D
In this blog we are going to look at the 'Disney A to Z The Official Encyclopedia Sixth Edition' which is written by 'Disney Legend Dave Smith and Steven Vagnini'.
This blogs letter is 'D', there is so much in each letter that there will be multiple blogs of each letter.
1. D Sports Merchandise Shop: information can be found under ESPN Clubhouse shop.
2. D Street: this is a pop culture shop which sold unique apparel, novelties and Vinylmation. The shop first opened on December 15th 2009 in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. It closed on January 2nd 2018 and became Disney Home.
3. D2: The Mighty Ducks: this film was released on March 25th 1994 and was directed by Sam Weisman. The film is 107 minutes long. The film is about Gordon who after sustaining an injury is resorted to sharpening other people's skate blades. However he is then made the coach for Team U.S.A. and needs to turn his team into a dream team. (This film is part of a sequel).
4. D3: The Mighty Ducks: this film was released on October 4th 1996 and was directed by Rob Lieberman. The film is 104 minutes long. The film is about Gordon and his team. They have won the Goodwill Games and have been given scholarships. (This film is part of a sequel).
5. D23: The Official Disney Fan Club: this club was first announced on March 10th 2009. The club represents the first major foray into providing Disney Fans with an official organisation. Fans that are members of this club receive a quarterly publication of the 'Disney twenty-three' magazine as well as access to special events. (These events include the D23 Expo, Destination D23 and Fanniversary).
6. D23 Expo: this Expo was first held from September 10th-13th 2009, at the Anaheim Convention Centre. At this event all Disney divisions come together to create an amazing experience for the Disney fans. The event includes special announcements, screenings, seminars, displays, speakers, informational booths and limited edition merchandise.
7. Da Vinci's Travel Photos: this experience could be found in the Mediterranean Harbor at Tokyo DisneySea and was an interactive photo studio. The experience opened on September 4th 2001 and closed in February 2006. (It has since been replaced by Biglietteria, where guests can enter a lottery for reserved seating at live shows).
8. Dad, Can I Borrow the Car?: this film is a speical cartoon featurette which was released on September 30th 1970. The short film is 22 minutes long and was directed by Ward Kimball and Narrated by Kurt Russell. The film is a funny film about a young man who traces his involvement with wheels.
9. Daddio: this is a half an hour TV comedy series that aired on NBC from March 23rd-October 13th 2000. It is about a man who switches traditional domestic roles with his wife.
10. Daddy Duck: this film is a Donald Duck cartoon that was released on April 16th 1948 and was directed by Jack Hannah. The film is about Donald adopting Joey, a young Kangeroo. Donald realises how hard it is to be a parent.
