The Disney Encyclopedia - letter F

In this blog we are going to look at the 'Disney A to Z The Official Encyclopedia Sixth Edition' which is written by 'Disney Legend Dave Smith and Steven Vagnini'.

This blogs letter is 'F', there is so much in each letter that there will be multiple blogs of each letter.


1. Fa Zhou: he is Mulan's Father and was voiced by Soon-Tek Oh.

2. FABLife: this was a daily lifestyle show, which included tips on beauty, fashion, food and home design. It first aired on September 14th 2015 and ran until July 27th 2016.

3. Fabray, Nanette: (1920-2018) an actress who appeared in 'Amy'. She played Malvina, alongside children who were deaf. She also suffered from hearing loss herself due to a hereditary disease. She had her hearing restored after having several operations over two decades.


4. Facts of Life Reunion, The: this was shown on 'The Wonderful World of Disney' (TV), which started on November 18th 2001. It was a reunion of the stars from the sitcom that ran from 1979-1988.

5. Fagin: this character was in 'Oliver & Company' and was the master of the gang of dog thieves. The character was voiced by Dom DeLuise.

6. Fain, Sammy: (1902-1989) was a composer who wrote songs for 'Alice in Wonderland', 'Peter Pan' and 'Sleeping Beauty'. He was nominated for an Academy Award with Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins for 'Someone's Waiting for You' from 'The Rescuers'.


7. Fair Folk: these are fairylike characters who help Taran find the Cauldron in 'The Black Cauldron'.

8. Fairest of Them All, The: this was a special for the re-release of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. It aired on May 23rd 1983 and was directed by Cardon Walker. Dick Van Patten hosts and introduces lots of the artists who worked on the film. The voices of Snow White and the Prince are reunited (Adriana Caselotti and Harry Stockwell).

9. Fairfax Market: this is a market stand that can be found in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure, it opened on February 8th 2001.


10. Fairway Villas: these are two bedroom villas at Lake Buena Vista at Walt Disney World. They were open from 1979 up until 2002. The villas were arranged along the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. The 64 tri-level villas included modern energy saving features.
