The Disney Encyclopedia - letter G

In this blog we are going to look at the 'Disney A to Z The Official Encyclopedia Sixth Edition' which is written by 'Disney Legend Dave Smith and Steven Vagnini'.

This blogs letter is 'G', there is so much in each letter that there will be multiple blogs of each letter.


1. Gabble Sisters, The: these are the two English geese sisters in 'The Aristocats'. The characters are called Amelia and Abigail and are voiced by Carole Shelley and Monica Evans.

2. Gabby Duran & the Unsittables: this was a TV series on the Disney Channel that started on October 11th 2019. It is about a daughter called Gabby who feels she is living in the shadows of her mother Dina and younger sister Olivia.

3. Gabor, Eva: (1921-1995) was an actress, who voiced Duchess in 'The Aristocats' and also Bianca in 'The Rescuers Down Under'.


4. God, Josh: an actor who voiced Olaf in 'Frozen' as well as other appearances as this character. Josh also voiced LeFou in the live action 'Beauty and the Beast'. He appeared on TV in 'Mickey's 90th Spectacular' and 'The Disney Family Singalong.' On Disney+ he has appeared in Artemis Fowl as Mulch Diggums and he narrated 'Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom'. Josh was named a Disney Legend in 2022.

5. Gadget: is an inventive mouse in 'Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers' and was voiced by Tress MacNeille.

6. Gadget's Go Coaster: this is an attraction that was in found in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland, it opened on January 24th 1993. It was a short fun roller coaster ride which was themed around the inventive mouse character from 'Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers'. It closed on March 8th 2022 and reopened in March 2023 as Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster. The roller coster also opened in Tokyo Disneyland on April 15th 1996.


7. Gadot, Gal: is an actress who voiced Shank in 'Ralph Breaks the Internet'. She also played the Evil Queen in the live action 'Snow White'.

8. Gag Factory/Five and Dime: this was a shop in Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland it opened on January 24th 1993. The shop closed in March 2020 to make room for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The shop also opened in Tokyo Disneyland April 15th 1996.

9. Gala Day at Disneyland: this film is a documentary featurette that was released on January 21st 1960 and was produced by Hamilton Luke. It follows the gala dedication ceremonies at the opening of three new major 'E ticket' attractions at Disneyland (the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Submarine Voyage and the Monorail). It also includes a parade down Main Street U.S.A. with appearances from Walt and Roy O. Disney as well as members of their family. It also features Vice President Richard Nixon and family and many film stars. The celebrations at at midnight with fireworks. It is 27 minutes long.


10. Galactic Grill: Information can be found under Tomorrowland Terrace.
